Atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP)is a reversible deactivation radical polymerization(RDRP)technique, which is often used to synthesize functional materials.ATRP has the advantages of simple experimental equipment, readily available raw materials, and mild reaction conditions.,and is the one of most commercially valuable polymerization method. Therefore,it is significant to develop new materials by ATRP method.Reverse atom transfer radical polymerization(RATRP)was used to synthesize poly(dimethyl itaconate)(PDMI)by using AIBME/Cu Br2/d Nbpy system.Characterization analysis of PDMI was carried out by 1H NMR and GPC.The effects of catalyst dosage, temperature, ratio of monomer and initiator, and types of initiators on the polymerization kinetics of PDMI were systematically studied. The polymerization rate of DMI was greatly improved by replacing the traditional initiator AIBN with a new initiator AIBME.The number-average molecular weight of PDMI was as high as Mn=15000g/mol,and the molecular weight distribution remained at a narrow level((?)=1.06~1.38).This provides a new suggestion and theoretical advice for the preparation of poly(dimethyl itaconate)with narrow molecular weight distribution by ATRP method. The triblock copolymer of poly(methyl methacrylate)-b-poly (dodecylmethacrylate)-b-poly(methylmethacrylate)(PMMA-b-PLMA-b-PMMA)was synthesized by using normal ATRP method. The block copolymers with different soft segment lengths and hard segment contents were designed for the preparation of pressure sensitive adhesives(PSA).The successful preparation of the samples was proved by 1H NMR and GPC.The microscopic morphology of the samples was observed by AFM and XRD.The thermal stability of the samples was analyzed by TGA.Mechanical properties were analyzed by tensile testing.During the research on the properties of pressure-sensitive adhesives,it was found that the properties of the prepared pressure-sensitive adhesives were related to the content of hard segments of the PMMA-b-PLMA-b-PMMA.Properties of pressure sensitive adhesives was analyzed by DMA.The higher the hard segment content of the block copolymer, the higher the cohesive strength, which leads to the weakening of molecular chain mobility, which leads to the decrease of primary adhesion and peel strength. However, the lasting adhesive of pressure-sensitive adhesives decreases with increasing hard segment content. The PMMA-b-PLMA-b-PMMA pressure-sensitive adhesive prepared by the ATRP method can quickly bond the surface and can be easily peeled from the surface without residue. This provides a new direction for the development of pressure-sensitive adhesives.
