Chalcopyrite and galena are typical sulfide ores,and the floatability of polymetallic sulfide ores is similar,so flotation separation is difficult.At present,the flotation separation of chalcopyrite and galena is mainly carried out by sodium cyanide and potassium dichromate,but sodium cyanide is highly toxic;Potassium dichromate is also toxic and causes contamination.Therefore,the selection of efficient,non-toxic,environmental protection type of copper and lead separation inhibitors is a major research focus.In this paper,potassium dichromate,sodium sulfite + zinc sulfate combined inhibitors,sodium thiosulfate,sodium pyrosulfite and sodium pyrosulfate were screened for pure mineral flotation tests,and the effects of different reagents on chalcopyrite and galena flotation behaviors were explored,and their inhibition mechanism was studied.The main research results are as follows:(1)the flotation test results of pure minerals show that the recovery of chalcopyrite and galena is 96.3% and 89.2%,respectively,when 40mg/L ammonium butadiene is used as collector,it is difficult to achieve flotation separation;With potassium dichromate + zinc sulfate and sodium sulfite composite inhibitor focal sodium sulfate,sodium thiosulfate,sodium metabisulfite and five kinds of medicament as inhibitor,inhibition of galena in order for the sodium metabisulfite >potassium dichromate > sodium thiosulfate > focal sodium sulfate and sodium sulfite+ zinc sulfate > namely sodium metabisulfite galena selectivity is better;The flotation test results with sodium metabisulfite added at the same time show that when the p H value of pulp is 10 and the concentration of sodium metabisulfite is100mg/L,the flotation recovery of galena is 29.6% and that of chalcopyrite is 74.4%,which can achieve efficient separation of the two.(2)Mixed ore flotation test results show that sodium metabisulfite has good selectivity to galena when it is used in the flotation separation of artificial mixed ore of galena and chalcopyrite(according to the mass ratio of 1:1),which verifies the flotation test of pure minerals.(3)The results of contact Angle measurement show that sodium metabisulfite reduces the contact Angle of galena and its surface hydrophobicity.(4)The results of ir spectrum analysis show that sulfoxide group is a new characteristic peak of sodium metabisulfite in the ir spectrum of galena after the interaction with sodium metabisulfite and ammonium butadiene.This hydrophilic substance leads to the enhancement of hydrophilicity of galena.(5)XPS analysis results show that sodium metabisulfite adsorbs on galena surface through chelating reaction with Pb2+ on galena surface,resulting in enhanced hydrophilicity.In this paper,a high efficiency,low toxicity and low cost galena inhibitor sodium metabisulfite which can be used for the separation of copper and lead was screened,and its feasibility in the flotation separation of chalcopyrite and galena was verified.
