New energy is an important link in China’s energy structure, the main force of the new power system, but also an important means to achieve "carbon peak, carbon neutrality".In recent years,China has achieved leapfrog development of new energy, ranking first in the world in scale of development and utilization.New energy does not emit pollutants or greenhouse gases, and has achieved remarkable results in reducing pollution and carbon.By 2020,the scale of renewable energy development and utilization in China will be equivalent to replacing coal by nearly 1 billion tons, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 1.79 billion tons, sulfur dioxide emissions by 864,000 tons and nitrogen oxide emissions by 798,000 tons, providing a strong guarantee for the battle against air pollution. On the basis of reviewing relevant literature, this study studies the impact of new energy investment on regional environment through theoretical research, case analysis and empirical research.Of this study was carried out by case analysis and an empirical research, case analysis carried out in the new energy project case analysis, the mechanism of the influence on the regional environment was studied, and the actual data of a certain province in recent years, new energy investment and atmospheric pollutants in the panel, the trend analysis of a case; The empirical analysis of double difference model is established,a convenience sample of 31 provinces and cities, with annual emissions of carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide emissions, smoke dust emissions to be explained variables(powder),investment in new energy as the explained variable, with gross domestic product(GDP),population, urbanization, industrial structure as control variables, has carried on the empirical analysis. The results show that:1.New energy investment has a significant inhibition effect on sulfur dioxide emissions, that is,it has a positive effect on reducing sulfur dioxide emissions, and increasing new energy investment contributes to regional atmospheric environment protection.2.New energy investment has a significant inhibitory effect on soot emission, that is,it has a positive effect on reducing soot emission, and increasing new energy investment contributes to regional atmospheric environment protection.3.New energy investment has a certain inhibitory effect on nitrogen oxide emissions, that is,it has a positive effect on reducing nitrogen oxide emissions, and increasing new energy investment contributes to regional atmospheric environment protection.4.As there is no detailed data on carbon dioxide emissions,it is not analyzed in the DIFFERENTIAL difference model. However, theoretical analysis and case analysis of new energy projects show that new energy investment has a positive effect on reducing carbon dioxide emissions.Based on these conclusions, the following suggestions are put forward:1.Adhere to the basic development orientation of clean,low-carbon,safe and efficient, and vigorously develop new energy;2.Accelerate the construction of a new type of power system with new energy as the main body;3.Actively promote the flexibility transformation of coal power units to improve the peak regulation capacity of coal power units;4.Strengthen scientific and technological innovation, continuously enhance industrial support for the new energy industry, and promote the high-quality development of the new energy industry;5.Integrate ESG concept into enterprise operation and management;6.Improve the financing system for the new energy industry.
