Research On The Design Of Children’s Furniture Under Cooperative Parent-child Relationship

At present,children’s furniture design generally emphasizes the interaction between children and furniture,and the research between children’s furniture and the behavioral characteristics and needs under the parent-child relationship is relatively weak.In order to explore the theory of innovative design of children’s furniture under parent-child relationship,this paper takes the cooperative parent-child relationship as the perspective and conducts specific research on the functional design,morphological design and technical design of children’s furniture.Through the preliminary research,it is found that children’s furniture is a special type of apparatus for children to sit,lie down,support,store objects,decorate space,parent-child interaction,parent-child education,and intellectual development.Cooperative parent-child relationship is a parent-child state defined by parent-child behavior,which consists of cooperative interaction,parent-child companionship,and guidance and education behaviors.Therefore,it is scientifically feasible to explore the correlation between the behavioral characteristics of cooperative parent-child relationship and children’s furniture design.On this basis,a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods,including questionnaires,real-world observations and in-depth interviews,was used to investigate and analyze the specific behaviors of cooperative parent-child relationships between children aged 3-6 and their parents in their daily lives;and the main characteristics of cooperative parent-child behaviors were summarized as follows:joint participation,diverse interactions,cooperation in completing tasks,emphasis on companionship,and close mutual assistance.Based on the above findings,this paper proposes the following viewpoint:children’s furniture is a medium to promote parent-child interaction,parent-child companionship,and guided education.The functional design of children’s furniture under cooperative parent-child relationship should grasp the functional size and emphasize the use function to meet the shared and diverse experiences,the leisure function of fun,interaction,intimacy and games,as well as the guidance function and children’s growth needs.Morphological design,to consider plant elements,cartoon elements and natural flow of the shape,the use of soft and warm neutral colors and solid colors,adding the children’s inner preferences,appropriate to the aesthetic decorative elements.Technical design,to choose natural and environmentally friendly wood,pay attention to the safety,stability and variability of the structure.And should follow the design principles of interactivity,intimacy,guidance,fun,playfulness,safety,as well as the integration of bionic design,making the product series,rich functional form,flexible structure form,reasonable color matching design methods.Finally,using the design principles and methods,the design practice and evaluation of children’s sitting furniture,table furniture and storage cabinets were carried out.The spss descriptive analysis showed that the users’ ratings of interactivity,intimacy,guidance,fun,playfulness and safety of the furniture ranged from 4.94 to 5.39,indicating that the subjective feeling was positive and the experience was obvious.Therefore,this study proves that children’s furniture designed by applying this principle and method can better reflect the behavioral characteristics of cooperative parent-child relationships and meet the needs of parent-child use.
