Study On Walnut Green Leather Dyeing In Channing Miao Dress

The Miao ethnic group is one of the minority ethnic groups in southwest China and has a long history of development.Along with the migration of residence and the development of clothing culture,the Miao ethnic group in Channing has formed a rich and varied clothing culture.In recent years,China’s economic growth rate has been accelerating,and the process of social modernization has been accelerating.Some traditional crafts face the rapid transition stage,and the intangible cultural heritage in traditional crafts can not be developed at scale because of the special factors such as inheritance skills,so there is a certain urgency in protecting and studying intangible cultural heritage.The traditional dyeing process of the Miao ethnic group in Channing is one of the essence of traditional clothing culture and has a history of several hundred years.Color is an important expression of Channing Hmong costumes,and dyeing is the main way to study the color of Channing Hmong costumes.Channing Hmong costume,Channing Hmong people give special emotion to black,so black is used in Channing Hmong costumes.Walnut,pentatonin and winter melon rind are typical plant dyeing materials,walnut is also the main local cash crop and dyeing techniques are easy to operate,the dyeing rate is also high,in black plant dyes have a very important role.This subject is studied by literature reading,field investigation,experiment and dyeing practice.Between 2018 and 2019,I conducted many in-depth investigations in Pingping and Tupittai villages under Baoshan Channing county.Based on my understanding of Hmong culture,I conducted detailed field investigations in Pingping and Tupittai villages,and collected a large number of digital resources such as photographs and videos.He visited Luo Jinrong,Deputy Curator of Changning County Cultural Museum,and reviewed relevant literature and historical materials.After this,the author made a visit to Changning Hmong Dollar and Xiong Flower.Through design practice,the characteristics of walnut green skin dyeing art and a new design attempt: based on the traditional clothing structure of changning Miao ethnic group through color recombination and application,the design conforms to the modern aesthetic characteristics of ethnic colors,and will be used in modern applications;Combine with traditional plant dyeing to enrich the color system of Miao costumes in Changning.At last,this paper makes a preliminary discussion on the historical background,manufacture,aesthetic value and development trend of plant dyes,dyeing techniques,and traditional dyeing techniques in changning miao region.Through theoretical and empirical research on walnut green leather dyeing technology of changning miao,this paper aims to deepen the understanding of changning miao dress culture and walnut green leather dyeing process,grasp the special implication of color in changning miao dress culture,and further discuss the protection of walnut green skin dyeing process and a basic theory.
