If mining disasters are unavoidable in the process of social development, the media,as their witnesses, play a very important role in reporting on mining disasters. They not only transmit information on mining disasters in a timely manner and satisfy the public’s right to know, but also undertake major social responsibilities, which helps us to reflect on the accident and summarize the experience.Through analysis and research on mining disaster reports,we can most intuitively reflect the changes in our country’s political and economic system and social environment. This article takes mining accidents(safety production accidents in coal mines)as the research object, and selects our country’s first party newspaper "People’s Daily" as a representative. This paper, combines content analysis and text analysis, collects 605 samples of mining disaster reports as well as depicts the changes in the framework of mining disaster reports since the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The thesis explores the multiple influencing factors in these historical changes via a comprehensively outline of the specific changes in mining disaster reports. The article first combs the history of the mining disaster report of "People’s Daily",summarizes the characteristics of each stage of the report, and finds that the trend of its reporting framework is mainly the attribution reflection framework—fact determination framework—supervision framework—warm narrative framework.Secondly, based on the framework theory, the thesis analyzes the content of the report samples, and analyzes the specific construction method of the "People’s Daily" mining disaster report from six aspects:the speed of the report, the report layout, the report genre, the report carrier, the report topic, and the report tone. After changing the surface analysis,it was found that the reports of mining disasters gradually showed a trend of flexibility and diversity.Third, conduct a text analysis of the mining disaster report samples, and conduct an in-depth analysis from the three aspects of reporting terms, reporting functions and reporting concepts. It is found that the narrative language of the reporting objects has undergone significant changes, and the rescue role of the local government has given way to the central leadership. The individual life attributes of people and miners in the disaster have been highlighted, and the accountability of the party responsible for the accident has been increased;the reporting function has gradually improved, from"political propaganda" to "promotional warning",and the concept of reporting is increasingly focusing on the perspective of "civilization".Including humanistic care and pay attention to public opinion in the report.Since then, the historical inevitability behind the changes in reporting has been explored from the perspective of social practice, and the reasons for the flow of changes in the three aspects of political environment, citizen awareness, and media changes have been summarized. Finally, the thesis summarizes the characteristics of mining disaster reports in the 70 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, analyzes the changes in the role played by the People’s Daily, and makes practical rethinking of the future reporting direction based on the current development environment in my country.
