Unsaturated polyester resins(UPR)is a kind of excellent thermosetting polymer material.The composite material Poly-Putty Base made of UPR,accelerator and filler is suitable for coating various substrates.Among them,it is suitable for non-ferrous metals such as galvanized sheet is commonly called Poly-Putty Base on Alloy.It can solve the problem that ordinary Poly-Putty Base has no adhesion on the base of galvanized sheet.At present,domestic Poly-Putty Base on Alloy generally has poor adhesion on non-ferrous metal substrates,and cannot be dried quickly after gelling.Although foreign Poly-Putty Base has excellent performance,it is expensive and is rarely used in the domestic market.This article optimizes the process and formula based on the traditional resin:simplified from the traditional two-step process to a one-step process,high raw material utilization,low pollution.Therefore,the one-step process is determined to be the optimal synthesis process.By adjusting the amount of resin raw materials,it is found that the molar ratio of alkyd is 1.06,the molar ratio of diacid and maleic anhydride is 1:0,the molar ratio of tetrahydrophthalic anhydride to adipic acid is 3.4:1,and the molar ratio of pentaerythritol to ethylene glycol is 0.35:1,the synthesized UPR performance is better,so determine the base formula as UPR1.The raw materials for synthesizing UPR1 are the same as those used for traditional resins,so the cost is as low as that of ordinary UPR on the market.The UPR1 and common imported No.8 resins are cured at room temperature.After testing,they have comparable performance.To determine the best curing system for UPR1,two curing agents benzoyl peroxide(BPO),methyl ethyl ketone peroxide(MEKP),and two kinds of accelerators dimethylaniline(DAM),cobalt octoate(Co(II))are selected,which are combined into different curing combination.It were used to perform room temperature curing tests,low temperature sensitivity tests,and isothermal differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)tests on alloy gray resins.BPO-DMA-Co(II)was selected as the best curing system based on gel time,surface drying time,adhesion and activation energy.Because BPO-DMA-Co(II)is a new curing system obtained in this paper,in order to facilitate the indepth exploration and practical application of follow-up researchers,the kinetic model of the system was studied by non-isothermal DSC.During the period,the curing parameters of the curing system were calculated by Kissinger extreme value method,FWO integral method and T-βextrapolation method.The reaction activation energy(Ea)was 54.57 k J/mol,pre-exponential factor A was 9.153×107min–1.When the heating rate(β)was 0,the ambient temperature was 307.88 K,the curing had a faster initial reaction rate.When the system temperature was 323.50 K,and the heat release rate was the highest.While the temperature reached 371.15 K,the reaction was completed.Therefore,UPR1 can be baked and cured at a constant temperature of 323.50K(50.4°C)on the coating line to shorten the curing time;According to the calculation result of Friedman method,it was found that the system complies with the autocatalytic curing model,and the kinetic equation was ln(da/dt)=lnβ(da/d T)=–Ea/(R·T)+nln(1–a)+mlna+ln A.This equation was used to simulate the curing process,and the results showed that the data was in good agreement with the experimental measurements,It was proved that DMA and Co(Ⅱ)in UPR1~BPO-DMA-Co(Ⅱ)system as composite accelerators successively autocatalyzed peroxides,released free radicals,and initiated resin crosslinking.In order to broaden the application of home-made resins in the coating industry,a multi-directional study of the functionality of UPR1 was conducted.First,the introduction of methyltetrahydrophthalic anhydride in UPR1,the curing time of the synthetic resin can be shortened to 11min,and the air-drying property is excellent,which can be applied to the rapid coating industry;secondly,for the shortcomings of general UPR,such as high rigidity and poor flexibility,introduce hexamethylene diisocyanate trimer(3HDI)to synthesize UPR1-3HDI hyperbranched unsaturated polyester resin,and bend diameter after curing It can reach 10mm,and the tanδis larger(>0.1)in the range of-5~70℃,so this kind of resin can be coated on substrates with various structures and achieve the effect of damping and reducing noise;In order to further improve the adhesion of UPR,The ethanolamine EHA was introduced into UPR1 to generate a strong polar amide bond,and a high adhesion alloy ash resin UPR1-EHA was prepared.When UPR1 is cured,the mass ratio of the mixed powder to the glass microspheres in the filler is 17.5:0.5,which can improve the moldability and sandability of the Poly-Putty Base on Alloy.Finally,in order to improve the storage stability of the resin,adding 600 ppm copper liquid and 100 ppm6A83 in UPR1 can maintain UPR1 room temperature storage time for 12 months,and the air drying is excellent;1.5%of the ultraviolet light absorber UV-327 is added to UPR1,which can reduce its photosensitivity,and the resin will deteriorate after 80 hours of illumination.In summary,UPR1 is synthesized from conventional raw materials,which is cured by BPO-DMA-Co(Ⅱ)system,and play a coordinating role.The cured resin has excellent comprehensive properties and can completely replace common imported No.8;In addition,the performance of UPR1 is further studied,its air-drying property,flexibility,adhesion and abrasion resistance and stability have been further improved,which can meet the requirements of functional UPR in different coating industries,thereby expanding the application market of self-made UPR1,and improving the economic benefits of
