Short term and imminent earthquake prediction is still a global challenge, and precise prediction of earthquake magnitude and time cannot be achieved yet.Foreign seismologists generally believe that when plastic rocks or serpentine rocks in the lower crust are squeezed into cracks in the upper crust, earthquakes will occur. These easily sliding serpentinite rocks are generated by the interaction of iron and magnesium rich minerals with water, which generates hydrogen gas during this process.Once the layer breaks, hydrogen gas emerges through the cracks of the fault,Causing a sharp increase in hydrogen concentration in normal air: In the 10 to 40 days before an earthquake, the hydrogen concentration will suddenly increase,up to tens of thousands of times the normal hydrogen content.China has been engaged in observation and research on the changes in hydrogen concentration before earthquakes since the 1970 s.In 1976,a 6.9magnitude earthquake occurred in Ninghe,Tianjin, and the staff responsible for studying the changes in hydrogen concentration before earthquakes found that the hydrogen concentration at observation points appeared high before the earthquake, but slowly decreased after the earthquake.Due to the high sensitivity of hydrogen concentration changes to earthquake response, especially in the short-term and imminent stages, its ability to reflect earthquakes is significantly better than other measurement items, making it one of the important means of short-term and imminent earthquake prediction. With the continuous development of earthquake precursor observation technology and embedded technology, the demand for earthquake precursor instruments with high cost-effectiveness,high accuracy, high stability, and network communication function is increasing among earthquake researchers. This article designs a seismic precursor trace hydrogen analyzer based on changes in hydrogen concentration to predict earthquakes. The main tasks completed are as follows:(1)Analyze the actual requirements of the earthquake precursor trace hydrogen analyzer, determine the actual requirements and technical indicators of the instrument, design the specific hardware platform scheme and software function scheme of the instrument, and complete the selection of all modules of the instrument.(2)Based on the functional requirements and technical indicators of the instrument, the pipeline interface design and implementation of the instrument chassis shell and instrument data acquisition module have been completed;Completed the porting of the embedded Linux system on the hardware platform with the I.MX6 ULL embedded processor as the core, the construction of the root file system, and the driver design of the hardware peripherals required for the instrument;Completed the instrument human-machine interaction interface based on the QT application framework, saved the collected data in the format of the "Fifteen Communication Regulations for Earthquake Precursors" to the memory of the embedded motherboard, and sent the data in real-time to the seismic network.(3)We conducted the entire systematic testing of this instrument, including embedded Linux system debugging, instrument function testing, and data collection module technical indicators testing. The technical indicators of the data collection module were tested by building a self built experimental platform and environment, and the accuracy, repeatability, and zero drift tests of the hydrogen collection module were completed. The accuracy of the hydrogen collection module is 5% FS,the repeatability is less than or equal to 2% F.S,and the zero drift is less than or equal to 0.5% F.S /12 h;Completed error testing of the temperature and humidity collection module; The entire instrument data collection module has achieved the initial technical indicators set by this instrument, which meets the requirements of the project.
