Metal honeycomb structure has been widely used in aerospace,automobile,ship,transportation,military and other fields due to its good structural properties,attracting the attention of many researchers.The metal honeycomb shows good energy absorption characteristics when subjected to impact load.The arc curved edge honeycomb designed on the basis of the hexagonal metal honeycomb has higher compressive strength.Therefore,six typical curved edge metals are selected in this paper.The impact energy absorption characteristics of honeycomb structure were studied.In this paper,numerical models of six typic al arc curved honeycomb structures are established,impact loads are applied to the arc curved honeycomb models in three directions,and the different failure modes and mechanical energy absorption characteristics of different arc curved honeycombs in three directions are analyzed.Bee-shaped metal honeycomb for comparison.The results show that in the axial loading,the overall failure mode of the arc curved honeycomb is still progressive plastic collapse,and the specific energy absorption of each arc curved honeycomb has a certain degree of improvement compared with the hexagonal honeycomb;in the lateral loading,the two directions The failure mode of the hexagonal honeycomb is roughly similar to that of the hexagonal honeycomb.During the failure proces s,there will be "X"-shaped deformation belts,"V"-shaped deformation belts,"Y"-shaped deformation belts,etc.The overall is slightly lower than the hexagonal honeycomb.In three-direction impact dynamics simulations of six typical curved honeycombs,the effects of loading speed on failure modes and energy absorption levels are discussed.The results show that the loading speed has obvious effects on the three-direction failure process and the energy absorption level of the curved honeycomb.In axial loading,the speed has an impact on the plastic collapse range during the failure process.Under high-speed impact,the energy absorption level of the curved honeycomb will also increase to a certain extent.Under high-speed impact,the deformation belt will become an "I"-shaped deformation belt.In high-speed loading,the specific energy absorption of the curved honeycomb is higher than that in low-speed loading.In the study of the axial impact energy absorption level of the curved edge combined honeycomb structure,the specific energy absorption of different curved edge combined honeycomb structures was compared.The hexagonal honeycomb has been improved,and its energy absorption level is affected by many factors.
