Kachin amber from Myanmar(Burma)has been known for more than 2000 years in Asia.It is one of the most prolific sources today for its spectacular inclusions of plants, animals, and fungi.Kachin amber hosts an abundant and diverse biota, including: bryophytes, ferns, gymnosperms, angiosperms, fungi, molluscs, onychophorans, vertebrates, nematodes, and arthropods.Elcanidae is an important and special branch of orthoptera, which is similar to Ensifera and Caelifera. However, the special form of Metatibia of Elcanidae makes it impossible to categorize it into a certain suborder. Therefore, the report of Elcanidae fossils is very important for the classification of its systematic position. On the basis of the above work, five new species of Elcanidae are described : Aciculariselcana simplex gen.et sp.nov.、Asperaelcana jarzembowskii gen.et sp.nov.、Panorpidium maculosum sp.nov.、Panorpidium zhangi sp.nov.、 Panorpidium beuteli sp.nov..The important characteristics of the new species were summarized briefly.Currently,72 species of Elcanoidea superfamily fossils have been reported in 28 genera, including 8 species of Elcanidae7 genus from Burma.Previous reports on the fossils of weta were mostly compressed fossils with incomplete body structures. Many of the new species identified in this study have preserved body structures, which not only enriches the diversity of Elcanidae, but also provides more information for the morphological study of Elcanidae. The two new genera and seven new species identified in this study also enriched the biodiversity of the Cretaceous period, supplemented a lot of information about the body structure of the Elcanidae, and also provided the basis for the follow-up study of this group.
