| Under the background of global warming,Yellow River-Huangshui River Valley(YHV)is easily affected by agricultural drought,which is located in the climate-sensitive area,and the YHV is the most important agricultural area and grain producing area of Qinghai Province,which brings great challenges to the sustainable agricultural development of Qinghai Province.It is of great significance for the healthy development of agriculture in Qinghai province to identify the spatial distribution of agricultural arid zone in YHV and study the adaptability and adaptation strategies of farmers to agricultural drought.In this paper,the vegetation health index,wavelet analysis and M-K test were used to study the area,intensity and spatial distribution of agricultural drought in the growing season(March--November),spring(March--May),summer(June--August)and autumn(September--November)of main crops in YHV from 2000 to 2020.On this basis,the locations of the growing seasons and agricultural arid areas of each season in YHV were identified and graded.Based on the range and grade of agricultural drought zone in YHV,the evaluation framework of agricultural drought adaptability of farmers in YHV was constructed by using the sustainable livelihood framework,and the diversification index of adaptation strategies was used to analyze the agricultural drought adaptation strategies of farmers in YHV,so as to realize the research on agricultural arid zone and adaptation of farmers in YHV.It can provide scientific basis for the formulation of agricultural drought resistance policy,agricultural production and management in YHV,and promote the healthy and sustainable development of agriculture in Qinghai Province.This paper drew the following conclusions:(1)From 2000 to 2020,the agricultural drought area of YHV showed a trend of decreasing in the interannual periodicity,the area change cycle for 12~13a,the rate of reduction of was 142.9 km~2/a,reducing area was mainly in Ledu,Minhe and Hualong,the area began to decline sharply in 2007-2008.The change cycle of spring agricultural arid area in YHV from 2000 to 2020 was 4~6a,the time point for the area to increase was 2012,the increase rate was 301.4km~2/a during 2012-2020,and the increasing area was mainly in Xining and Huangzhong.The decrease rate of arid area in summer was 187.09km~2/a,the change period was 12~13a,the area began to decrease sharply in 2007-2008.The decrease rate of agricultural arid area in autumn was 369.64km~2/a,the change period was 12~13a,and the time point of sharp decrease was 2010.The arid area of agricultural drought decreased mainly in Ledu,Minhe and Hualong in spring and autumn.(2)The spring agriculture drought area of YHV is mainly located in Datong River Valley,Huangshui River Valley and Yellow River Valley;The summer agriculture drought area of YHV is mainly located in the midstream and downstream areas of Huangshui River Valley and Yellow River Valley.The autumn agriculture drought area of YHV is mainly located in the upstream and middle areas of Datong River Valley,Huangshui River Valley and Yellow River Valley.The drought area of agriculture in the growing season of YHV is mainly located in the Huangshui River Valley and Yellow River Valley.Agricultural drought area in spring>autumn>summer,and spring is the most serious season of agricultural drought in YHV(3)The adaptability of farmers to agricultural drought in Huangshui River Valley was mainly restricted by natural capital and social capital.The adaptability of farmers to agricultural drought in the Yellow River Valley is mainly restricted by material capital and financial capital.The agricultural drought adaptability of farmers in Huangshui River Valley was slightly higher than that in Yellow River Valley.The agricultural drought adaptation ability of farmers in different agricultural drought grades was in order from high to low:medium agricultural drought grade,low agricultural drought grade,no agricultural drought grade,and high agricultural drought grade.(4)Agricultural drought adaptation strategies of farmers in Huangshui River Valley and Yellow River Valley were mainly based on productive adaptation strategies,supplemented by life adaptation strategies.Agricultural drought adaptation strategies of farmers in Huangshui River Valley were more varied than those in the Yellow River Valley.The adaptation strategies of farmers with high agricultural drought level were mainly productivity,supplemented by subsistence and security.Agricultural drought adaptation strategies of farmers with moderate and low agricultural drought level were mainly productivity,supplemented by livelihood.If the agricultural drought grade is not drought,the adaptation strategy of farmers is based on productivity.The higher the level of agricultural drought,the greater the diversification index value of farmers’adaptation strategy.In terms of the selection of agricultural drought adaptation strategies,no matter the farmers in different regions or different agricultural drought levels,the adaptation strategies of low recognition degree are basically the same,but the adaptation strategies of high recognition degree are different. |
