| Background:Abnormal expression of spindle assembly abnormal protein 6 homolog(SASS6)is associated with some cancers, and the role of SASS6 in lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD)is unknown.Method:The expression of SASS6 in LUAD and its relevance to the prognosis of LUAD patients were comprehensively analyzed using multiple databases based on The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA).The potential biological functions and common features of SASS6 in different aspects of LUAD were analyzed,as well as the relationship between SASS6 and LUAD immune infiltrating cells and immunomo-dulatory-related genes, chemokines and receptors to explore the critical role of SASS6 in LUAD.Result:In the TCGA and Genotype-Tissue Expression(GTEx)databases,SASS6 expression data were available for 31 tumors and their corresponding normal tissues.SASS6 expression was elevated in 22 tumors including LUAD,and SASS6 methylation levels were decreased in LUAD.high SASS6 expression was a risk factor for overall survival in patients with LUAD.SASS6 expression levels in LUAD were significantly negatively correlated with the levels of multiple tumor-infiltrating immune cells, including Dendritic cell(DC)cells and CD8+ T cells.SASS6 was significantly associated with the expression of immune activation-related genes,immunosuppression-related genes, chemokines and receptors in LUAD.Conclusion:In LUAD,SASS6 expression is higher than in normal tissues, and this elevation may be associated with decreased methylation levels of SASS6 in LUAD.SASS6 is a risk factor for poor prognosis in LUAD,and this poor prognostic work may be associated with mutations in SASS6 in LUAD and its inhibition of tumor-specific immune cell infiltration and migration. |
