Fast urbanization and industrialization induced heavy metal pollution in city. The pollution is becoming more and more serious.Generally, heavy metal pollution accumulated in soils tends to decrease from the center to the countryside within a city. The spatial variances of heavy metal pollution largely influenced the soil physical, chemical and biological characteristics. However, there are not clear what pattern of soil fungal community under soil heavy metal pollution conditions. To test the changing pattern of fungal diversity and community composition influenced by soil heavy metals,we investigated soil fungal community by high-throughput sequencing technique in this study. We collected soil samples from six tree species, including three evergreen and three deciduous trees soils, located in six typical parks that distributed from city center to countryside. The results showed that soil heavy metal concentration has close relationship with the location and history of these urban parks;however, they did not show a clearly spatial pattern from city center to countryside. We found the increasing in heavy metal concentration reduced soil fungal diversity. The dominated family is Ascomycota fungi(73%),which mainly contribute more to the pattern of the fungal community responding to soil heavy metal pollution. In addition, community composition of soil fungi in of urban park were not only affected by soil heavy metal, but also significantly influenced by soil pH,moisture and organic C to N ratio.Besides fungal diversity and community composition, fungal functional group such as pathogens was significantly affected by soil heavy metal, indicating a potential threat to human health from heavy metal pollution.Overall, our results provide insight into the importance of soil fungal communities by soil heavy metal pollution in urban parks, increasing our understanding the damage of soil heavy metal pollution and being helpful for improving the management of park in Beijing.
