Fiber laser with convenient thermal management,high conversion efficiency and compact structure is widely used in national defense,advanced manufacturing,medical and other fields,and has become a hot spot for research and application in the field of high power laser.In order to break through the output power limit of a single-channel fiber laser to achieve high-power and high beam quality laser output,SBC(spectral beam combining)is a feasible technical approach to achieve high-brightness fiber laser.The end-cap array module constructed by multiple fiber lasers is a key component for coupling incident lasers to the SBC to realize a high-brightness laser light source,and the array fiber end-cap made by fusing a linear output fiber pigtail array with a large size quartz end-cap can make the beam combining device compact and lightweight,which is beneficial to further increase the scale of the incident laser beams to obtain higher power laser output.Aiming at the important requirement of SBC for high-quality splicing of array fiber end-caps,the thesis conducts theoretical simulation of high-performance array fiber end-caps and research on precision software control for the preparation of dense array fiber end-caps.The main research results of the thesis are as follows:(1)The software design of the experimental instrument control program based on Lab VIEW’s VISA function,which can automatically complete the splicing of the linear fiber array and the quartz end-cap.Based on the CO2 laser,the automated splicing experimental platform of the array fiber end-cap is completed.(2)The surface temperature distribution of the quartz end-cap under CO2 laser irradiation was modeled and simulated,and the difference between the measured maximum temperature and the experimental results was better than 2%.Then,the surface temperature distribution of the extended form of the array fiber end-cap under laser irradiation was modeled and simulated,and the simulation results provided theoretical guidance for the automated splicing of the array fiber end-cap later.(3)To carry out the verification of the fusion control software of the array fiber end-cap.To achieve the splicing of multi-tailed array fiber end-caps,the average temperature rise of the array fiber end-cap is about 8°C/k W;the experimental study of SBC using the multi-tailed array fiber end-cap finally achieves the combined beam quality M2=1.3,which is close to the theoretical combined beam quality M2=1.1,and the research results show that the array fiber end-cap can be used as an effective incident laser beams combiner in SBC.
