This paper addresses the practical problems of salt-tolerant rice varieties screening and suitable local irrigation and drainage systems and water-fertilizer coupling in the sandy saline land of the Yueyang Lake area of Ningxia,etc.The effects of different varieties,irrigation quotas and water-fertilizer coupling on rice growth,photosynthesis,yield and quality and the comprehensive improvement effect on saline land were carried out more systematically under shallow wet irrigation and concealed pipe drainage conditions using comparative experimental methods,and the results of the study The results of the study can provide theoretical basis and technical support for the improvement of saline land in the Yellow River Irrigation Area of Ningxia.The main research results are as follows:(1)Seven rice varieties,Ning Japonica 56(F1),Ningda 6(F2),Zhongke 8(F3),Ningda 16(F4),Fuyuan 4(F5),Ning Japonica 51(F6)and Qiu You 88(F7),were selected as treatments to study the differences in growth,photosynthesis,yield and quality of different varieties of rice grown in sandy saline soil.The test results showed that Ning Japonica 56 had better growth indicators in sandy saline soil,Qiu You 88 had better photosynthetic indicators in sandy saline soil,and Fuyuan 4 had better yield and quality indicators in sandy saline soil.Among them,the seed yield of F5 treatment was 10425Kg/hm2,which was 5.5%,9.6%,6.8%,15.3%,11.0%and 4.9%higher than the seed yield of F1,F2,F3,F4,F6 and F7 treatments respectively.the protein content of F5 treatment was 8.2%,which was 2.5%,2.5%and 2.5%higher than the protein content of F1,F2,F3,F4,F6 and F7 treatments respectively.2.5%,2.5%,7.9%,0%,5.1%and 5.1%respectively.On balance,Fuyuan 4,Qiu You 88 and Ning Japonica 56 are suitable rice varieties for cultivation in local sandy saline lands.(2)Three irrigation levels of 800(F1),1000(F2)and 1200(F3)m3/667m2 were selected as treatments to study the effects of different irrigation levels on rice growth,photosynthesis,yield and quality indexes.The results of the experiment showed that with the increase of irrigation quota,all the indicators of rice showed an increase.Among them,the seed yield of F3 treatment was 10,580Kg/hm2,which was 23%and 5.2%higher than the seed yield of F1 and F2 treatments respectively;the protein content of F3 treatment was 8.5%,which was 7.6%and 3.3%higher than the protein content of F1 and F2 treatments respectively.Considered together,the F3 treatment(1200m3/667m2)is a suitable irrigation quota for rice in local sandy saline lands.(3)Three irrigation rates of 800(F1),1000(F2)and 1200(F3)m3/667m2 were selected as treatments,and the effects of different irrigation rates on soil moisture,salinity and nutrient transport patterns were investigated.The results of the experiment showed that the F3 treatment had moderate variability in soil volumetric water content in all soil layers from 0-60cm throughout the rice reproductive period,and the average desalination rates in 0-60cm for the F1,F2 and F3 treatments were 44.8%,48.9%and 53.6%,respectively;among them,the organic matter and fast-acting potassium content in the F3 treatment increased by 139.1%and 7.8%,respectively,after the rice harvest compared with that in the 0-20cm soil layer before sowing.The organic matter and fast-acting potassium content of the F3 treatment increased by 139.1%and 7.8%,respectively,compared with those of the 0-20cm soil layer before sowing.On balance,the F3 treatment(1200m3/667m2)is a synergistic irrigation quota for irrigation and drainage in local sandy saline soils.(4)The effects of water-fertiliser coupling on the growth,yield and quality of rice were investigated with three types of fertiliser(Diyi,cow manure and mushroom organic fertiliser)and three irrigation levels(800,1000 and 1200 m3/667m2),for a total of nine treatments.The results of the experiment showed that with the increase of irrigation quota,all the indicators of rice gradually increased,and the effect of base fertilizer on rice yield was from large to small:cow manure>mushroom organic fertilizer>Diyi fertilizer.On balance,the W3J2 treatment(irrigation quota of 1200m3/667m2 and base fertiliser of 2000kg/667m2 of cow manure)is a suitable water-fertiliser coupling method for barrel-planted rice in local sandy saline soil.
