Ion-adsorbed type rare earth mining have greatly increased the probability of potential landslides in mining areas due to the use of leaching mining methods. If potential landslides in rare earth mining areas can be identified at early stage, and the possible location and threat range of landslides can be predicted,it is of great significance for the ecological management and the protection of people’s lives and property.Taking the Lingbei rare earth mining area as an example, based on long-term Sentinel-1A images, the SBAS-InSAR technology is used to obtain the spatial distribution of surface deformation in the study area from 2019 to 2021.Combined with Google earth high-resolution images and field investigation to study the slope distribution and vegetation coverage and distribution in the study area, the possibility of potential landslides in typical mine sites and the relevent areas are analyzed. Results show:(1)The deformation area of the Lingbei rare earth mining area has a high consistency with the rare earth mining point, and the deformation trend in the time dimension is basically the same.It is consistent with the deformation trend in the time dimension, indicating that SBASInSAR technology can play an important role in surface deformation monitoring and related applications in rare earth mining areas, and has good application value and prospects.(2)Combined with a comprehensive analysis of multiple factors, the area located in the southeast of the Lingbei mining area is more likely to have potential landslides than the central area.It is feasible to identify potential landslides in rare earth mining areas in southern Jiangxi based on SBAS-InSAR technology, which has a certain guiding role for local disaster early warning research and mining area reclamation.(3)The Lingbei mining area has been stopped for many years. After the renovation and reclamation of the relevant government departments, its ecological function has been restored to a certain extent. The government has paid enough attention to the ecological restoration of the mining area, and the control measures have achieved initial results. After years of violent mining, ecological functions such as vegetation and soil have been seriously damaged, and there is still the risk of geological disasters such as landslides.
