Objectives:To investigate the effects of physical activity, nap duration and their interaction on metabolic syndrome. And to investigate the effects of 12-week vigorous walking on various components and body components of metabolic syndrome in female patients with different nap groups. Methods:A total of 113 Patients aged from 50 to 65 years were selected.Divided them into two groups according to gender.IPAQ was used to investigate Patients’physical activity level.Self-made questionnaire was used to investigate Patients’ nap status,Body composition was measured with a body composition meter, and blood indicators related to metabolic syndrome were examined. To investigate the effects of physical activity, nap duration and their interaction on metabolic syndrome.Then,44 women from the 67 female patients with metabolic syndrome were selected, after a walking with a 40%-60%HRR intensity, and 3-5 times a week for continuous 12 weeks. To explore the improvement of physical morphology and disease-related components in patients with metabolic syndrome by exercise. Then, according to different nap habits, the exercise group was divided into(1)no-nap group(n=10),(2)0-45min nap group(n=14)and(3)>45min nap group(n=10),to explore the influence of walking exercise on various indicators of people with different nap habits.Results:(1)In women, the SBP of the non-nappers was significantly lower than that of the 0-45min nappers and the>45min nappers(P<0.05).HDL in the no-nap group was higher than that in the 0-45min nap group.(2)The correlation coefficient between daily sitting time and fat mass in patients was 0.467.The correlation coefficient with body fat percentage was 0.383.The correlation coefficients of visceral fat content and subcutaneous fat content were 0.386 and 0.316 respectively.(3)The interaction between physical activity and nap only had effect on SBP(P=0.043).(4)Napping and physical activity had no significant effect on each index in men.(5)All components of the metabolic syndrome were improved after 12 weeks of exercise(P<0.05).(6)After 12 weeks of exercise, the subjects’ VFA and fat-related body composition improved.in terms of muscle mass, the exercise group increased more.Muscle mass in the control group decreased after 12 weeks while visceral fat content increased, which may be related to the change of lifestyle after the season change.(7)SBP decreased in all groups, and there was no significant difference in the change.Conclusion:(1)In female patients with metabolic syndrome, nap duration was correlated with blood pressure, and those who were physically active had lower blood pressure. The interaction between physical activity and nap significantly affected systolic blood pressure and subcutaneous fat content. In addition,12 weeks of vigorous walking decreased blood pressure, blood lipids, and fat-related body components in women with metabolic syndrome with different napping habits, regardless of nap duration.(2)In male patients with metabolic syndrome, different from women, nap duration and physical activity level had no significant effects on blood pressure, blood lipid and blood glucose, respectively, but the interaction between physical activity and nap had significant effects on the area of visceral fat in men.
