Frame is the most important part of a tractor and its performance directly determined the performance of a tractor.The ground roughness incentive and various loads in different operating conditions are applied on frame,which has an important impact on components life and operating quality.The study of frame static and dynamic characteristics can not only evaluate its performance such as strength and stiffness,but also has important guiding significance to its improvement and optimization.The finite element pre-processing software HYPERMESH and finite element analysis software ANSYS were used to make static and dynamic analysis to electric tractor research prototype frame made by Northwest A&F University and Texas A&M University.Meanwhile,steering and vibration performance test were presented based on research needs.The main work is as follows:(1)The frame 3-D solid model was established with necessary simplification,and the finite element model was presented after face extraction,model repair,meshing and the material properties definition etc.in finite element pre-processing software HYPERMESH.(2)Static analysis was proposed in plowing by finite element software based on three-point suspension force test,the results showed that frame meet the strength and stiffness condition.(3)The modal analysis in free state was made and the first 6 modal shapes and natural frequencies were acquired,then the possible resonance condition were analyzed,which provided theoretical basis to the control of resonance.(4)Random vibration analysis using the finite element software by the vibration acceleration test of 4 points on supporting on wheels bracket.The random excitation response on different reference points were obtained,and then fatigue analysis was described based on linear cumulative law.(5)Steering performance test was made,mainly including minimum turning radius,steering power ratio and steering slip rate,and straight slip rate in the same condition was esablished.(6)4 measuring points were selected to test the vibration of this machine in plowing,then corresponding damping measures were gave.
