Research On The Influence Of Social Support On Rural Elderly Poverty

With the official opening of the aging era,the problem of poverty among the elderly in rural areas is increasingly exposed.Therefore,based on the multidimensional poverty theory and social support theory,this paper uses cfps2018 data to build a multidimensional poverty measurement system for the rural elderly from three dimensions of economy,health and spirit,and uses A-F method to measure the multidimensional poverty level of the rural elderly.Through the establishment of Logit model,this paper discusses the relationship between social support and rural elderly poverty,as well as the vicious circle of poverty in different dimensions.The results showed that the incidence of mild multidimensional poverty was 29.32%,the incidence of moderate multidimensional poverty was 52.06%,the incidence of extreme multidimensional poverty was 12.58%,and the incidence of poverty in economic,health and spiritual dimensions was 69.02%,67.69% and 68.25% respectively.From the perspective of contribution rate,the contribution rate of economic dimension to the Multidimensional Poverty Index of rural elderly is 53.9%,which is much higher than that of health dimension and spiritual dimension.From the perspective of different degrees of Multidimensional Poverty,children’s economic support and pension have significant negative effects on mild and moderate Multidimensional Poverty;children’s life care support has significant positive effects on different degrees of Multidimensional Poverty;participation in employee medical insurance has significant alleviation effect on different degrees of multidimensional poverty.From different dimensions,children’s economic support can alleviate economic poverty,but due to adverse selection effect,children’s economic support on the surface aggravates health poverty;at the same time,adverse selection effect also makes children’s life care have a significant positive impact on economic poverty and health poverty;pension has a significant role in alleviating economic poverty and spiritual poverty;due to the treatment effect,children’s life care has a significant positive impact on economic poverty and health poverty The level of inequality,participating in employee medical insurance can significantly improve the economic poverty and spiritual poverty,while participating in resident medical insurance has no significant negative impact on different dimensions of poverty.In addition,there is a positive interaction between different dimensions of poverty,any dimension of poverty will induce other dimensions of poverty.To solve the problem of rural elderly poverty,we should focus on strengthening the family support function,improve the informal social support network,focus on improving the level of social security,organize the formal social support network,build a scientific and reasonable multidimensional poverty measurement system,and improve the prevention mechanism of poverty vicious circle.
