With the increase in the number of wireless communication services, wireless spectrum resources are increasingly precious, and how to improve the spectrum efficiency has become the key to the next generation wireless communication. In 1970 s,J.E.Mazo proposed a Faster-than-Nyquist(FTN)method.By introducing inter-symbol interference on purpose, the FTN signal can be non-orthogonally transmitted in the communication system, which improving the spectrum efficiency and the information transmission rate.In other words, the FTN transmission can break through the traditional Nyquist rate and improve system capacity. The FTN technology can also be combined with other communication technologies and thus, achieving the high efficiency use of spectrum resources. Therefore, this thesis mainly analyzes the FTN transmission signal from the perspective of multi-user,and designs the corresponding detection algorithm. The main work are as follows:Firstly, the existing research of FTN technologies is summarized and analyzed. In this thesis, the FTN theory and its related technologies are studied. In particular, the detection schemes and algorithms of FTN signal are summarized. What's more, the FTN transmission scheme from the perspective of multi-users is designed on this basis.Secondly,a FTN transmission scheme based on multi-user perspective is proposed, and the signal waveform is designed. After the accurately decomposition and derivation of the expression of FTN transmitting signal,it is proved that the FTN research from the multi-user perspective is reasonable and rational. In addition,a FTN transmitting scheme under the multi-user perspective is designed.Besides, the effects of different waveforms on the capacity and spectral efficiency of FTN transmission are analyzed.Thirdly, the receiving schemes of FTN transmission based on multi-user perspective under AWGN channel and flat fading channel are proposed, and the bit error rate(BER)performance of the receiving algorithm is analyzed. It is respectively analyzed that the receiving schemes and algorithms of FTN transmission scheme based on the multi-user perspective in the AWGN channel and the flat fading channel are analyzed respectively. Moreover, the optimality of the detection algorithm is proved. The BER performance of the detection algorithm is derived. In addition, the effects of different acceleration factors and frame lengths on the BER performance of the receiving algorithm are also analyzed.Fourthly, the BER performance of the receiving algorithms are verified correctly through the simulation.By means of simulating in MATLAB Simulink, the simulation results can be consistent with the theoretical analysis completely. Therefore,it is validated that the theoretical analysis, which is,the effects of different acceleration factors and frame lengths on the BER performance of the receiving algorithms in FTN transmission based on the multi-user perspective under the AWGN channel and the flat fading channel are correct. This thesis analyzes the FTN signal from the perspective of multi-users,and designs the FTN transmission detection scheme. The work in this thesis provides theoretical support and technical references to the application of FTN technology in real scenarios.
