| With the prominent character of "relationship communication" of social media,it is necessary to introduce the perspective of relationship research into the study of journalism and communication.The social network analysis method focuses on the relationship and structure between actors,and provides a unique research perspective for the journalism and communication discipline,which has attracted the attention of researchers of journalism and communication.Based on the CSSCI of Journalism and Communication and its extended edition source journal papers,this study systematically investigates and analyzes the application prospect of social network analysis and knowledge production of journalism and communication.Firstly,quantitative analysis is carried out from two dimensions of basic information and element information.Among them,the basic information includes the publication year and source of the literature,the author's situation and the institution,the research hotspot,and the combined theory;the element information includes data collection methods,analysis indicators,measurement tools,and formal expressions.Furthermore,by analyzing the collected samples,it summarizes and generalizes the academic orientation of the application of social network analysis in the research of journalism and communication in our country,and points out the problems in the application of social network analysis.Finally,think and look forward to the value,significance and future application direction of this method in the knowledge construction of journalism and communication disciplines.Examining the samples found that,in terms of basic information,the four major journals recognized by the academic circle of journalism and communication pay the most attention to the research results of social network analysis methods.Research hotspots are opinion leaders,bibliometrics,and social capital.The commonly used theories include social capital theory,field theory,and innovation diffusion theory;in terms of element information,the archival recording method is frequently used,the big data collection method is gradually popularized,and the network density and centrality,clustering coefficient is a common indicator,measurement tools are concentrated in Ucinet,Netdraw,Gephi,and the frequency of use of community graphs is higher than that of relational matrix.The study found that the application of social network analysis in the study of journalism and communication in my country follows the development logic of media technology;the research topics are mainly event-oriented and textual research;theoretical research focuses on the interpretation and deduction of theories;the measurement index provides data support for the deductive reasoning of journalism and communication research;the researcher prefers the measurement and display of static networks.Researchers have the following problems in the process of applying this method: first,the research platform and research content show a trend of homogeneity;second,the frequency of use of measurement tools reflects that current research has insufficiently investigated the dynamics of social networks;third,there are few research results on the combination of relationship variables and attribute variables;fourth,there is a lack of comparative research on the relationship between real social relationships and virtual network relationships.The study believes that the significance of social network analysis for the knowledge construction of the journalism and communication discipline is shown in:highlighting the importance of "relationship" in the study of communication;providing a dimension of relationship investigation that is different from the attributes of the text content;and this method is the method support for the theoretical innovation of journalism and communication.In the future research,the tracking research of dynamic propagation network,the research of attribute data and relational data are directions worth exploring. |
