The mirrored aperture synthesis radiometer,is to add a reflector beside the antenna array, combined with the mirror aperture synthesis brightness temperature reconstruction,to improve the spatial resolution or reduce the number of antennas. However, the system error has a great influence on the imaging quality of mirrored aperture synthesis radiometer. The reflector error is unique to the mirrored aperture synthesis imaging system. Therefore,it is necessary to analyze the error of the reflector and its influence on the mirrored aperture synthesis image. This paper studies the reflector error and its influence on the mirrored aperture synthesis imaging quality. The reflector errors are divided into six types of errors:reflectivity, position, roughness, angle, length, and deformation errors. The analysis focuses on the four types of errors of roughness, angle, length, and deformation and their effects. The expressions of the effects of the errors on the received signal and the influence of the errors on the output of the dual-antenna are given.A simulation program is developed to simulate the influence of the error on the mirrored aperture synthesis image. The simulation results show that the roughness error has a greater impact on the image brightness temperature;the length of the reflector mainly affects the observation range of the system;the angle and deformation errors have a greater impact on the image profile. The length and angle error experiments are carried out on the experimental system MAS-V independently developed by Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The experimental results of a single noise point source are consistent with the simulation results, verifying that the angle error of the reflector has a greater impact on the imaging profile. The experimental results of the length error of the reflector are consistent with the simulation results, which verify the influence of the length error of the reflector on the range of view.
