With the development of modern wireless communication systems,higher requirements are put forward for the RF front-end in terms of miniaturization,multi-function integration,broadband/multi-band,and low loss performance.As the two significant components of the RF front-end,the integration of antennas and filters is conducive to meeting the performance requirements of the RF front-end.Meanwhile,compared with microstrip antennas,Dielectric resonator antenna(DRA)has some advantages,such as low loss and high radiation efficiency,which has huge application prospects in communication systems.Therefore,this article combines the related theories research and analysis of DRA to design three filtering DRAs.The main contents are as follows:1.A filtering DRA using stepped impedance resonator(SIR)is proposed.Firstly,the resonance characteristics of the half-wavelength SIR and the operating mechanism of the 0°feed structure are analyzed.Based on this,a bandpass filter with the transmission zeros is designed for the feeding network of the DRA to achieve the filtering function.Therefore,the filtering DRA with high out-of-band frequency selectivity is realized.2.A dual-band filtering DRA using slotline stub-loaded coupling structure is proposed.Firstly,a dual-band DRA using the microstrip-slotline feeding structure and the multi-mode method is designed.Secondly,two pairs of the slotline stubs are introduced on the coupling slotline to generate two radiation nulls.Furthermore,the open stub of the microstrip feedline is elaborately designed for filtering function.Therefore,the dual-band filtering DRA with a quasielliptic frequency response is realized.3.A wideband filtering DRA using slotline stepped impedance resonator(SSIR)is proposed.Firstly,the resonance characteristics of SSIR is analyzed by using the dual relationship between microstrip and slotline in detail.Secondly,the shunted SSIR is serving as the feeding network of DRA to achieve the filtering function and widen bandwidth.In order to further improve the antenna performance,a pair of transverse arms is embedded in the microstrip feedline to widen the bandwidth and improve the out-of-band selectivity.Therefore,the wideband filtering DRA with high out-of-band selectivity is realized.
