In the Internet era,network media has become an important way for the public to participate in social public events and express public opinion,and play an important role in the construction of public issues and the formation of public opinion.How the Internet media set up topics directly affects the generation of public issues and the trend and development of public opinion.The online question-and-answer community platform,which has developed rapidly in recent years,seems to focus on the dissemination of knowledge,but it is actually a public opinion platform.The online Q&A community platform represented by Zhihu uses users to set the basic form of topic setting.Topics are set independently by users.Topics are fresh and wide.It attracts a large number of users,especially young users.It not only disseminates relevant knowledge,but also to the public.The construction of issues and the formation of public opinion have an important impact.Based on the theory of communication,this article uses literature analysis,content analysis and other research methods to systematically study the principles,characteristics,presentation methods,topic types and user motivations of self-designed topics on the online question and answer community platform,in order to have a comprehensive view of users' self-designed topics.Accurate understanding,to find out how the mechanism of user self-organization topics affects the construction of public issues and the trend of social public opinion.Zhihu platform users' self-designed topic mechanism,including user self-generated,Zhihu big V-level opinion leader guidance,topic spawning under the no-threshold registration system,and social carnival in anonymous mode.The user-defined topic mechanism has the characteristics of openness and flexibility,rapid topic response,wide topics,and diverse content ecology.The user's self-designed topic question-and-answer motives mainly include acquiring knowledge,answering questions,gaining a sense of resonance,seeking a sense of belonging,leisurely seeking interest,relieving pressure,gaining affirmation,and self-disclosure.User-defined topics can be divided into four types: news event type,social topic type,cathartic sharing type,and curious brain hole type.User-defined topics are presented in four ways: text,graphics,video,and synthesis.This article focuses on the effect of user-defined topics.User-defined topics are not only related to the development of the platform itself,but also have an important impact on the trend of public opinion.The positive effect on the platform is mainly to capture the attention of the audience,consolidate the foundation for the popularization of Zhihu,and open up the way for the commercialization of Zhihu.The negative effects on the platform are mainly the disconnect between the "quality" and the "quantity" of the content,the contradiction between scale and high-end,and negative content damages the image of the platform.The main positive effects on society are to promote the formation of a deep public opinion field on topics,spread positive voices,and form high-quality knowledge dissemination.The main negative effects on the society are to amplify social anxiety,provoke group antagonism,and disadvantage the formation of a social consensus.In order to improve the topic setting mechanism of the online community question and answer platform,maximize the strengths and avoid weaknesses,promote the development of the platform itself,and play a positive role in guiding public opinion,this article puts forward suggestions for improvement: strengthen the awareness of platform responsibility,strengthen platform management,improve the quality of user questions and answers,and strengthen government guidance functions.
