Polarimetric imaging and its measurement,compared with typical imaging technique,is an original research field.The technique effectively copes with the problems of detection of target objects and discernment of images by combining image process and polarimetric measurement.Meanwhile,the polarimetric imaging have several other advantages: independent in environmental impacts,little connection to light intensity,etc.Therefore,it has widespread values in many fields,such as remote sensing,environmental survey and medical measurement.In polarimetric imaging and measurement fields,previous researches virtually focus on monochromic imaging and relevant analyses where they detect the polarimetric images by grayscale cameras.Our paper specifically researches on polarimetric color imaging and its measurement,which could increase the quality and other results of polarimetric imaging in an integrated way.First,we elaborate background and value of the research from the perspective of complicated environment having effects on eyes and detectors in the first chapter.In addition,this part introduces progress and deficiency of typical polarimetric grayscale imaging contrast optimization and of color image recovery in underwater scattering medium imaging.At last,we summarize the main research of full text.Second,from introduction of the base of polarimetric theories,the second chapter provide the article with polarization characteristic of light and relevant physical concepts.We also discuss several basic theories and analytical approaches of polarimetric optics.Based on these theories and concepts,we introduce and analyze some common systems of polarimetric imaging and measuring equipment.Third,we elaborate the process of adjusting polarimetric state analyzer(PSA)and of getting color image of every region in target scene by broadband passive polarimetric imaging system with a color camera.This new system is based on monochromic passive polarimetric imaging system.Moreover,this chapter proposes an effective approach to search the PSA state of the optimal contrast results in the scene,according to an original global criterion of contrast optimization.Therefore,we realize the contrast optimization of real polarimetric color images in visible spectrum.Fourth,based on typical dehazing model,we propose the method of polarimetric underwater image recovery for color image with crosstalk compensation.The chapter introduces the process of eliminating the deviation stemming from crosstalk effects between RGB channels in typical polarimetric color images recovery.In such process,we can improve the quality of image recovery and regain the balance between channels under the condition of scattering medium imaging.By this method,we could simultaneously improve image contrast and recover the real colors.Finally,we summarize the process of every research in this article,and then put forward our further expectation of these researches.
