In recent years,the type of application and volume deployed in the data center has increased dramatically.This poses a challenging test for data center network resource management.The data center network not only needs to meet the needs of the application,but also needs to consider the network resource cost.Coflow scheduling is an effective technical means for data resource management in data centers.However,existing research efforts either aim to reduce the Coflow completion time or ensure that Coflow is completed before the deadline.Both of these goals,while improving the performance requirements of the application,lack the economic considerations for network resource costs.Therefore,the main research goal of this paper is to meet the application requirements while maximizing the economic benefits and minimizing overhead of Coflow scheduling.The specific content is:On the one hand,for the Coflow that can not completed before the deadline,the previous research usually discards the Coflow and no longer allocates network bandwidth resources to it.This makes the bandwidth allocation of the Coflow before deadline was a waste.More importantly,it will affects real-world application requirements Therefore,this paper proposes the MinCost algorithm,which quantifies the economic cost of continuing to allocate network bandwidth resources after Coflow exceeds the deadline.On the other hand,for Coflow that can satisfy Deadline,the existing work often does not pay attention to the optimization of the completion time.Therefore,this paper proposes the MaxUtility algorithm to reduce its completion time and quantify the economic benefits of Coflow before the completion of Deadline.We conducted a lot of experiments using Facebook's real data set.The results show that for those Coflow scheduling that exceeds Deadline,the economic cost of FIFO and EDF is 2.4 and 1.8 compare to MinCost.For those Coflow scheduling that does not exceed Deadline,MaxUtility has significant economic benefits compared with FIFO,EDF and SCF,and can achieve a maximum increase of 9.8%.
