The explosive growth of data traffic and the increasing types of multimedia services in wireless networks pose many new challenges to the existing wireless network architecture.As a new network architecture,Cloud Radio Access Network(C-RAN)can effectively reduce network operation cost,system power consumption and transmission delay,as well as improve network performance.This paper mainly studies the resource allocation strategy in C-RAN,aiming at reducing the overall power consumption of the system.We study the related problems and propose the corresponding algorithm to improve the system performance.Firstly,the basic knowledge of C-RAN,including the network characteristics and advantages,is briefly introduced.Meanwhile,this paper reviews the research of resource allocation and cache technology in C-RAN.Moreover,we introduce the basic knowledge of convex optimization in this paper.Secondly,for the joint optimization of wireless and computing resource allocation in C-RAN,a joint optimization strategy of beamforming design and BBU computing resource allocation is proposed in order to minimize the system power consumption under the premise of meeting the different quality of service requirements for different users.To solve this problem as well as reduce the computational complexity,the original problem is decomposed into two subproblems.We transform the problem of optimal beamforming design into a convex semi definite programming problem.Then,we optimize the power consumption of baseband unit pool,and propose a BBU computing resource allocation scheme based on the Simulated Annealing algorithm.Simulation results show that the proposed joint optimization strategy is effective in reducing the overall power consumption of C-RAN.Finally,for the resource allocation in cache-based C-RAN,a joint optimization strategy based on content caching and power allocation is proposed to further reduce the system power consumption.In the cache phase,the cache location is determined according to the content popularity of each Radio Remote Head(RRH)region,so as to maximize the cache hit rate.In the transmission phase,we also design a new user association criterion,which considers both the RRH caching state and the channel conditions.Then,we optimize the power allocation to minimize the system power consumption.Finally,the superiority of the proposed algorithm is verified by simulation.
