Since modern science and technology are changing with each passing day,people are in an era of high-speed information.Therefore,the requirements communication technology of human beings is also increasing to pursue faster and more efficient communication methods.Traditional Multiple Input Multiple Output(MIMO)technology uses multiple antennas to combine each other at the transmitter and receiver for data transmission.MIMO makes full use of the communication space dimension to help people obtain a more reliable and more efficient communication system.However,it also has some problems such as strong interference etc..Consequently,researchers provide Spatial Modulation(SM)technique which not only retains the transmission performance of MIMO system but also solves its existing defects.Therefore,SM becomes a hot research topic of modern wireless communication technology.The basic idea of SM is that only one transmit antenna is activated.In SM,the index of transmit antenna and modulation constellation are used to transmit the information data.This thesis studies on the signal detection algorithms and focuses on how to improve detection performance as well as decreasing the computation complexity as much as possible.Firstly,this thesis introduce the theory and system model of SM in details.Then,it deeply discusses the classical signal detection algorithms.The bit error rate and computation complexity are analyzed and compared by simulation realization.Finally,for obtaining a tradeoff between detection performance and computation complexity,this thesis deeply researches on the sphere decoding algorithm(SD)by changing the sort of channel matrix or received signal strength.These algorithms have a different search tree structure so that they can obtain better detection performance without increasing computation complexity.The simulation results indicates the effectiveness of these algorithms.
