Currently,the in-band network management system is the most common switch management method in the operation and maintenance management systems of major communication operators.The switches are connected through fibers directly.The network management signaling and service data are transmitted with different logical VLANs through the same path.If the planning is not in place during the construction period or the device data configuration is not standardized,the management of the device will be uncontrollable,and even cause broadcast storms with network interruption.In addition,the traditional in-band network management is highly dependent on manpower,which increases duplication of work.In order to solve the problems above,this thesis mainly completed the following work:(1)Based on the out-of-band connection,the basic architecture of the out-of-band network management system is proposed.The system hardware is composed of three parts: the device side,the transmission side,and the network management side;the system architecture is composed of four logical levels: user interface layer,communication interaction layer,basic network layer,and data storage layer;the system software is composed of four modules: automatic operating and maintenance,alarm processing,logging and security management.(2)A detailed design is made for the out-of-band network management system: The device side uses the ETH management interface of the managed device to transmit network management signaling,use the SDH ring network to transmit the network management signaling to the network management side,finally,a switch is used as the signaling converging device at the network management side,and the signaling is outputted to the network management server.A firewall is installed between the system and the public network to ensure the safety of the network management system and provide remote access functions.(3)The SDH-based out-of-band network management system designed in this thesis realized the manual management function and further automatic operating and maintenance function of traditional operators.The software can realize automatic operating and maintenance functions and reduce manual repetitive labor.The out-of-band network management system occupies less network resources and can operate in a network environment with a bandwidth lower than 10 Mbps.When a broadcast storm occurs,the remote response time of the out-of-band network management system is less than 5seconds,and the local response time is less than 1 minute,enabling fast response and reduced troubleshooting time.Engineering practice test results illustrate the various functions of the system can meet the practical requirements.At present,the out-of-band network management system has been successfully deployed in the operator's network and put into use,and the system operates stably.
