Digital image processing technology is one of the most important technologies used in high-performance thermal imaging systems.The image quality of original image output by the detector has been significantly improved and the detection performance of the system has been improved as well.At present,most of the thermal imaging system performance evaluation model does not include image processing module,the impact of digital image processing technology to system performance can not be effectively evaluated.The paper deeply studied the domestic and foreign thermal imaging system performance evaluation models,A new model is presented which introduced the image processing module,the image quality perception module and the target detection probability acquisition module into the static performance model.This model uses the target detection probability as the evaluation norm to evaluate the influence of image processing technology to the performance improvement of the thermal imaging system by analyzing the improvement of the target detection probability before and after image processing.The image processing module in this new model uses the image processing technology of thermal imaging systems to process the image output by the detector.The image quality perception module uses SSIM(structural similarity)method to perceive the change of image quality uses the SSIM value as the detection base value..Through the target detection probability acquisition module,the SSIM value is mapped into the target detection probability,and then the influence of image processing technology on the detection probability will be reflected.Through the evaluation experiments of the selected thermal imaging system and the target series,it was verified that the thermal imaging system performance evaluation model with the image processing module can quantitatively evaluate the influence of the image processing technology on the target detection performance,and it was in good agreement with the actual situation.
