The Exploration Of The Narrating Patterns In Interactive Journalism

With the rapid development of technology and the trend of media convergence,many new forms have been practiced in different news agencies,and the introduction of technology has provided varies approaches to present news content.In this context,interactive journalism,with its characteristics of "interactivity","narrative" and "visualization" has become a distinctive news practice.Taken technology as the underlying logic,presenting specific news topics in different visual text representation forms and realizing news effect after inviting users as another narrative subject,compared with traditional news,have become the intriguing thoughts about this new practice.The researching results show that interactive news can be categorized according to three kinds of criteria,which helps to better understand the types of interactive presentation forms.At the same time,there is a correlation between the interactive news topics and interactive functions,and the interactive news with social-related topics mostly employ interactive functions that involve higher user engagement,while interactive news with environmental topics mostly use interactive features that involve lower user engagement.There is also a correlation between news topics and the type of verbal text,with the result illustrating that accompanying text is mostly used in the interactive news with environmental topics.A significant correlation between interactive functions and the types of verbal text can also be found,and interactive news usually set interactive functions with lower user engagement together with accompanying text.On the one hand,this study promotes the theoretical development in interactive news related fields,on the other hand,it provides practical suggestions for emerging practices of news organizations,guiding the visual narrative practice of interactive news,as well as optimizing the news effect and helping to realize the social value of news.
