The wave of informatization in the Web2.0 era puts everyone in the information trend.In an information-rich network environment,people can not only obtain information that meets their own needs through active search,but they may also encounter some useful or interesting information unexpectedly.Undoubtedly,the massive information resources in the network environment provide great convenience for users to accidentally obtain information.Through the use of chance encounter information,it can help users increase their knowledge reserves,broaden their horizons and active thinking,and encourage employees to generate new methods and new perspectives.Existing research points out that the use of occasional information may be beneficial to knowledge innovation and the enhancement of employee creativity.However,there is not only a lack of research tools for the use of occasional information,but also a lack of empirical research and systematic analysis of the relationship between the two.Starting with the use of occasional information,this research compiles its measurement scales in accordance with a strict scale development process,introduces them into the research framework of creativity,and uses information processing theory to build a causal framework that takes the impact of occasional information use on employees' creativity as the main cause and effect.Creative self-efficacy and creative thinking are mediators,and information usefulness is a theoretical model of regulation.Based on this,297 sample data were collected for empirical analysis through the survey respondents who had the experience of using occasional information on the Credamo data platform.The results show that the two-dimensional self-use and sharing of occasional information use behavior will affect the creativity of employees,and this influencing process will be conducted through creative self-efficacy and creative thinking,and the usefulness of information plays a moderating role in it.This study explores the impact mechanism of accidental information use on employee creativity,which helps to make up for the lack of empirical research between individual accidental information use behavior and creativity,provides theoretical support for the causal relationship between the two,and enriches the relevant research.Therefore,this study is helpful for employees to pay attention to the information they encounter occasionally in the network environment,make use of it,and transform it into the information and knowledge they need;at the same time,it also provides reference and guidance for enterprises to pay attention to employees' behavior of using information,promote the communication between employees,create a good information encounter environment,and improve the level of employees'creativity.
