With the rapid development of Internet and communication technology,the form of information dissemination and the way of users receiving information in society have changed from text-based information to multi-modal transmission of text and video.As one of the main forms of multimodal transmission mode,short video is gradually becoming the main entertainment mode in people's leisure time.At the same time,as one of the hot research topics of communication dynamics,video dissemination has been widely concerned by scholars.Research shows that due to the weakening of platform recommendation and social network,there are some differences between short video dissemination and traditional video dissemination.Therefore,it is of great significance to reveal the evolution mechanism of short video popularity and control the mechanism.In this paper,we analyze the propagation process of nearly 1000 short videos based on "Douyin" platform,which makes a series of empirical analysis on the popularity of short video and the behavior of users to explore the reasons for the large-scale popularity of short video.By analyzing the evolution mode of video view counts.According to the statistical law,it is found that there are two time-varying patterns of cumulative short video view counts,namely single gradient and multi-gradient propagation modes;in order to explore the reasons for different propagation modes,this article analyzes the correlation between user's like behavior,the emotional tendency of comments and the view counts.We found that the higher the proportion of negative emotional comments is,the larger the view counts of short videos are.Furthermore,it is found that there is a strong positive correlation between the liking count and the view counts,and the liking count has a driving effect on the view counts.Which means that the user's like behavior will lead to the further spread of short video.This paper also constructs an online short video spreading dynamics model for the characteristics of short video dissemination.Based on the two main spreading ways—passive viewing from recommendation of"Douyin" and active viewing from fans,considering the correlation and driving relationship between the like count and the view count,and taking into account the feature that liking promotes the view counts,this article constructs an online short video liking-spreading dynamics model,which reproduces the evolution patterns of view counts of online short videos well,and the influence of different parameters on the evolution patterns of view counts are explored through the model simulation which found that the generation of the two time-varying modes is affected by the like rate of short videos.In order to further study the model,the evolution model of like rate and the linear relationship between like rate and comment emotion are explored.The results of this paper not only provide a reference for the research of short video transmission mode,but also provides theoretical support for making more effective strategies for information promotion or control.
