At present,wireless communication technology is in the stage of fast growth of the fifth generation,and higher requirements are put forward for the bandwidth and efficiency of RF power amplifier(PA).Although the traditional class-EF PA has high efficiency,it has the defect of very narrow bandwidth.As the signal modulation method becomes very complex,the signal has a very high PAPR,which requires the entire transmitter system to have better linearity,but linearity and efficiency cannot be balanced.However,Outphasing technology can solve this contradiction very well.Based on this situation,this paper first puts forward a new type of broadband high-efficiency PA through theoretical research on class-EF PA and continuous class-F PA,and then designs a high-efficiency Outphasing PA by researching high-efficiency combination technology.The main work of this paper is divided into the following parts:1?Through analyzing the theory of class-EF PA,a design method of high efficiency class-EF PA is proposed.Integrate the compact class F harmonic control network into the load network of the class-EF PA,and use the fundamental matching circuit to meet the fundamental impedance requirements of the class-EF PA.The simulation test shows that the drain efficiency is between 65%and 77%,the power gain is between 10dB and 11.2dB,and the output power is maintained between 40dBm and 41.2dBm in the working frequency range from 2.3GHz to 2.7GHz.At the center frequency of 2.5 GHz,the maximum drain efficiency of Class-EF PA reaches 77%.2?Through impedance analysis of traditional class-EF PA and continuous class-F PA,the possibility of merging these two types of PA is found,and proposed a new type of broadband high-efficiency PA.After actual testing,in the designed frequency range from 1.5GHz to 3.0GHz,the drain efficiency remains between 63%and 79%,the output power is between 40.2dBm and 41.4dBm,and the gain is greater than 10.2dB.3?By analyzing the efficiency of the non-isolated Chireix combiner,a high-efficiency Chireix combiner is designed.Then combined with the continuous class-EF PA,an Outphasing PA based on the continuous class-EF was designed.Finally,a simulation platform of Outphaisng PA is designed to test its performance.After testing,when the 2.4 GHz ?/4-DQPSK modulated signal is input,the designed Outphasing PA achieves an ACPR of-31.7dBc for the left channel and-30dBc for the right channel,while maintaining the efficiency of 44%,showing high efficiency and linearity.
