Distributed optical fiber sensors are widely used in industrial applications such as energy,security,defense and transportation due to its many significant advantages.In particular,fiber sensors based on Brillouin optical time domain analysis(BOTDA)allows for high accurate distributed measurements over long fibers exceeding several tens of kilometers.In this paper,based on BOTDA and embedded development platform,a software control system is designed and implemented.Compared with traditional distributed fiber optics sensors,the distributed fiber optics sensors based on BOTDA and embedded platform has advantages of small size,low cost and stable performance,which can measure the temperature and strain information of the external environment.This paper is focused on the design and implementation of functions such as data transmission,data interaction,and communication protocols.The raw Brillouin response gathered by FPAG is processed to generate low-speed data,then the Brillouin frequency shift fitting algorithm in the embedded CPU is used on the low-speed data to obtain temperature and strain information along the sensing fiber,finally,these data are transmitted to embedded Linux system for data interaction with client program by inter-process communication.The data transmission is tied in closely with the data analysis by customized communication protocol,thus the accuracy of data interaction and the stability of the system are highly improved.In addition,a novel optical fiber sensing system based on the thermo-optic effect of UV glue is proposed.A dual-channel logarithmic amplifier circuit is designed to improve sensitivity and accuracy of the sensing system.The feasibility of UV glue as a sensing element has been demonstrated by numerical simulation and experimental results.The proposed technique offers the advantages of low cost,simple structure,easy operation and can be adopted by some temperature sensing system with low cost.
