In order to meet the requirements of higher transmission rates and higher communication quality,Multiple-Input Multiple-Output(MIMO)technology has received increasing attention.However,in a communication device with limited space,the coupling between antennas becomes more serious,which degrades the communication quality of the communication system.Therefore,the decoupling technology between antennas is of great importance in MIMO technology.The contents of this paper are as follows:1.At first,we introduce the working principle and key parameters of antenna,and then analyze the coupling phenomenon and decoupling scheme between antennas in MIMO system.2.A novel weak-field-based self-decoupling method is proposed.The self-decoupling effect is achieved by utilizing the inherent weak-field area generated by the feed structure and the proposed inserted patch.By strategically arranging the array elements in the weak-field area of adjacent antenna elements,the coupling strength between adjacent elements can be controlled at a very low level with a peak isolation of 61 dB.Then,a four-element linear patch antenna array was designed,manufactured,and measured to further validate the proposed technology.3.A self-decoupling coupled-fed patch antenna is designed.The self-decoupling mechanism is based on the weak-field area formed by feeding structure and patch antenna.A dual-element antenna array was initially constructed,and an isolation better than 30 dB was achieved in the impedance band of 3.3-3.66 GHz.Next,a four-element MIMO linear antenna array is proposed to further verify the decoupling method and obtain good isolation performance.
