Ethernet technology as widely used LAN technology,Ethernet access system is more widely used in the field of broadband access.For example,the enterprise or the campus network and the public telecommunication network,the application Ethernet areas continue to grow.At the same time,Ethernet technology is extended to the metro area.However,how to achieve the synchronization of dynamic control and distribution,has become a big problem for the deployment of Ethernet.Beside speed of transmission and ease of setup,the words "real time" have a special meaning in this field.A substantial facet is precise time synchronization of different end devices.If hard real-time requirements are to be met,then the communication system must be able to guarantee deterministic behavior.This means always being able to exchange the required amount of data within a predefined time and the ability to provide mechanisms to synchronize all participants very precisely.Today only a few special field buses or other proprietary solutions are suitable for achieving cycle times of less than one millisecond or jitter values in the range of a microsecond.There is a time delay during the Ethernet transmission process,in order to solve this delay,we need a clock synchronization between the different devices.IEEE 1588 is a protocol between different devices as a standard for time synchronization protocols,due to its high-precision accuracy and low-cost implem entation,will be more applicable to the transmission of information in the Ethernet technology.During this document,I hadt introduced Ethernet synchronization protocols,then introduced the principle of IEEE 1588 briefly and compared between different synchronize protocols.Through the design of the L3 craft which support IEEE 1588 and the test by virtual scene.
