In the research of second language acquisition,learning engagement is crucial to affect learners' second language learning.Learning engagement refers to students' anticipating in learning activities actively,thinking deeply,and coping with the challenge and setbacks energetically with positive emotion.It is a combination of behavioral,emotional,and cognitive engagement.Learning engagement can assess the quality,observe the process,and estimate the academy of the students.At the same time,it plays a critical role in measuring the quality of teaching and development of students.At the present,English learning burnout is prevalent among senior high school students in China,and most of the senior high school students lose interest in English learning,so that their academic achievements are rather bad.Until now,scholars both abroad and at home have conducted investigations into learning engagement and made fruitful results.However,there is less research on English learning in senior high school students.Therefore,it is necessary to conduct this investigation into the English learning engagement of senior high school students.Based on the Student Involvement Theory,Krashen' Input Hypothesis and Affective Filter Hypothesis,this research proposes the following two questions:1.What are the situations of senior high school students' English learning engagement respectively in behavior,emotion,and cognition?2.What are the influential factors and their relationships with senior high students English learning engagement respectively?This research mainly selected 224 students of the Anqing Senior High School in Anhui Province as research subjects.Firstly,the questionnaire and interview were used to make clear the current situations of senior high school students' English learning engagement in behavior,emotion,and cognition.Secondly,the questionnaire and interview were also used to find out what the influential factors are and further analyzed the relationship between these influential factors and students' English learning engagement by means of SPSS 26 and AMOS 26.It could be found that students' English learning engagement in students are at average in behavior,emotion,and cognition.Some background factors like the gender,region of,and parents' education all have impacts on students' English learning engagement;some external factors like the schools,teachers,peers,and families all influence students' English learning engagement to some extent.The school has the largest influence on students' emotion;The teacher has the greatest influence on cognition;The peer has the biggest influence on emotion;The family has the greatest impact on cognition.Finally,based on the above analysis,some strategies on improving senior high school students' English learning engagement are put forward respectively.In a word,this research is of certain significance for enhancing the English learning engagement of senior high school students,conducive to improve the efficiencies of English learning of senior high school students and the quality of teachers' English teaching.
