The promulgation of the new curriculum standards emphasizes the cultivation of students' core literacy in chemistry,which is also the focus of the new round of teaching reform.As one of the core qualities,"scientific inquiry and innovation consciousness" is a necessary quality in the development of scientific inquiry and innovative thinking.Under the guidance of constructivism learning theory and pragmatism theory,this paper reviews relevant research on project-based teaching at home and abroad on the basis of reading a large number of literature,and defines the concept of project-based teaching.Interview method and questionnaire survey method were used to investigate the current situation of students and teachers,to understand the development of students' core literacy of "scientific inquiry and innovation awareness" at the present stage.Three contents in the unit of "Organic Compounds" in chapter 7 of compulsory volume 2 of High school Chemistry published by People's Education Press are selected for case design,which are "Scientific use of ethanol disinfectant","Brewing of vinegar" and "Making of soap".Better develop the core quality of "scientific inquiry and innovation consciousness".After the completion of the case practice,the results were evaluated through interviews.The results show that project-based teaching,as a new learning way,can effectively stimulate students' interest in learning,cultivate students' ability to solve practical problems,and effectively develop students' core qualities of "scientific research and innovation consciousness".Finally,based on the obtained data,the effectiveness and shortcomings of project-based learning in cultivating students' awareness of scientific inquiry and innovation in chemistry class are analyzed.
