This paper selected the junior middle school physics textbook "grade 9·all one volume" published by the people's education edition of China and the third edition of"scientific Explorer·electricity and magnetism" published by the United States for comparative analysis.Using the methods of literature research,content analy sis and comparative analysis,this paper made a comparative study on the relevant contents of electromagnetism in Chinese and American junior middle school physics textbooks.This paper mainly studied from two aspects.One was the overall style analysis of the two editions of teaching materials,including the expansion and summary methods of chapters and sections.It was found that the style of the Explorer edition of teaching materials ware richer,and the expansion and summary methods of chapters and sections were more specific,which was a major feature of this edition of teaching materials.The other was the specific analysis of electromagnetism,including comparison of chapter arrangement,knowledge points,experiments,exercises,illusirations and tables,and reading materials:In terms of chapter arrangement,electricity accounted for the largest proportion in the textbook of people's Education Edition,while electromagnetism accounted for the largest proportion in the textbook of explorer edition;In terms of the presentation of knowledge points,the American Explorer textbook introduced more knowledge points and covered a wider range.The content was more than the knowledge capacity of the people's Education Edition,but the depth was less than that of the people's Education Edition;In terms of the setting of experimental operation,the experiment of people's education edition textbook was divided into two parts:teacher demonstration experiment and student experiment,and mainly focused on knowledge experiment,supplemented by design and application experiment.The experiments of explorer edition textbook were student experiments,and paid more attention to design and application;In terms of exercises,the people's education edition only had exercises at the end of the section,while the Explorer edition textbook had not only conceptual exorcises at the end of the section,but also knowledge exercises and standardized test papers at the end of the chapter.Finally,it summarized the enlightenment to the compilation of teaching materials in China.First,it could increase the foreshadowing,summary and detection of important concepts in teaching materials.Second,it could increase the knowledge integration of interdisciplinary content.Third,it paid attention to the cultivation of physical thinking and physical methods.
