In recent years,China is vigorously promoting the new curriculum reform,which requires that teaching should not instill knowledge into students unilaterally,but more importantly,guide students to actively construct knowledge.Scaffolding teaching is a teaching method based on constructivist learning theory,which shifts the teaching center from teacher-centered to student-centered,emphasizing that teaching is a process in which teachers guide students to actively construct,and teachers provide clues in small steps in the teaching process to stimulate students’ thirst for knowledge and let students actively construct knowledge.This study investigates and analyzes the mathematics learning situation of junior middle school students and the mathematics teaching methods and means of junior middle school teachers by means of questionnaire survey.Taking the results of investigation and analysis as the realistic basis of instructional design,combined with Gagne’s classification of five types of learning results,the design principles and types of scaffolding instruction were summed up,and the process design and empirical research of scaffolding instruction were carried out according to the specific teaching contents of junior high school mathematics,which verified the effectiveness of applying scaffolding instruction in junior high school mathematics classroom.The research shows that: First,scaffolding instruction can be divided by five types of learning results,which can effectively help teachers to decompose and construct teaching task scaffolding.The second is the scaffolding teaching ability.
