The Student's mathematics achievement is affected in many ways and the family factor is one of the factors that cannot be ignored.More and more studies have proved the importance of parental involvement in student's academic work.At present, most studies on parental involvement are conducted in the context of western culture. There are few empirical studies on parents' participation in mathematics for junior high school in China, and the results of the studies are contradictory to each other, and no consensus has been reached. In view of this, this article conducts a questionnaire survey on 487 parents of junior high school students from a key middle school in Ganzhou City,Jiangxi Province, and randomly selects 4 subjects for in-depth interviews, and uses methods such as analysis of variance and correlation analysis to examine the situation in parents' participation in current junior high school students and its relationship with academic achievement in mathematics. The main findings of this study are shown as follows:(1)Parental involvement in mathematics of junior high school students is generally above the middle level. The three scores of parents' participation are as follows: parent-school interaction are greater than internal family interaction are greater than parent-society interaction. In terms of dimensions, parents score is higher in the two dimensions of parent expectation and discussion.(2)There is no significant difference in parental involvement in children of different genders and parental involvement in different grades is different, and the frequency of participation in both dimensions of parent Involvement and parent expectations and family supervision shows a trend of decreasing with the increase of grades. There are differences in parent participation under academic performance, and the level of participation in the overall communication dimension with home and school is shown as follows: excellent students are greater than medium students are greater than students with poor academic performance.(3)The overall participation of parents is positively correlated with mathematics performance.Home-school communication and parent expectations have a positive predictive effect on students' math performance, and family supervision has a negative predictive effect on students' math performance.Based on the research conclusions, this article puts forward corresponding suggestions and countermeasures: First, parents should reconstruct the concept of participation and enhance their awareness of participation.Secondly, the relevant departments can formulate laws and regulations and set up parent education courses to guide parent participation.Thirdly, parents and teachers should increase the importance of home-school communication.Fourthly, parents should consider their children's actual level and give their children reasonable academic expectations.Last but not least, parents should conduct family supervision according to their own circumstances, and create a good mathematics learning environment for students.
