Modern society has put forward higher requirements for the cultivation of talents.Since the introduction of core literacy in 2017,my country’s education circles have conducted indepth discussions on how to train high-quality talents.More and more people believe that high-level thinking is the key to training talents.High-level thinking embodies a person’s deep understanding and thinking of the objective world,which is closely related to the connotation of the core literacy of mathematics.Mathematics is the science of thinking,and the study of higher-order thinking in mathematics is of great significance.At present,there are few researches on higher-order thinking in mathematics,and there is a lack of in-depth practical investigation and research.Therefore,the in-depth study of the high-order mathematics thinking of high school students has great theoretical and practical value.First,use the literature analysis method to define the concept of higher-order mathematics thinking after fully studying the relevant literature.Based on the research results of core mathematics,thinking science and thinking quality,the advanced mathematics thinking is defined as deep abstract thinking,flexible thinking in images,rigorous logical thinking,quick intuitive thinking and original model thinking.Secondly,according to the composition of higher-order thinking in mathematics,test tools are compiled,and five open questions are set up to measure each specific thinking separately by paper-and-pencil test.At the same time,use the existing mathematics learning attitude questionnaire to further understand the relevant situation of students.Then,the students in the first and second grades of a general high school in City C were tested and evaluated to understand the status quo of the students’ high-order thinking level in mathematics and related influencing factors.Finally,based on the survey results,combined with existing research results,some suggestions are made for cultivating high school students’ higher-order thinking in mathematics.Based on the statistical analysis of the survey data,some main conclusions are drawn.First,the high-level mathematics thinking of senior one and two students is generally at a lower level,and there are fewer people who can reach a higher level.Second,from the grade point of view,the level of high school students in abstract thinking,logical thinking and model thinking is higher than that of high school students;in terms of gender,boys are better than girls in abstract thinking,intuitive thinking and model thinking.Third,there is no obvious correlation between the high-order thinking level of mathematics and their grades of the students in the first and second grades of senior high school.There is a certain correlation and positive correlation with their mathematics self-confidence and the use of mathematics.Fourth,comprehensively analyze the results and literature,and put forward corresponding teaching suggestions.The main strategies are to improve teachers’ professional quality,enhance mathematics cultural education,cultivate students’ mathematics metacognition,and guide students to deep learning.
