Research On The Influence Of Family Parenting Style On College Students' Internet Addiction And Educational Countermeasures

In the 21 st century,the Internet has developed at a rapid pace and has greatly facilitated our lives.On the one hand,it makes our lives more convenient than ever before,but on the other hand,it is also gradually eroding people’s physical and mental health.As the mission and responsibility of the new era,the development of university students is related to the future development direction of a society.Today’s university students are more seriously dependent on the Internet,almost always having their mobile phones with them,and always clutching their phones or computers in their dormitories at home.The behaviour of a person is closely related to the family education he receives,and the phenomenon of Internet addiction among university students is also related to the parenting style in the family.In this study,a sample of 516 university students from across China was used to investigate the relationship between parenting styles and university students’ Internet addiction and its various dimensions.The data were analysed using SPSS 23.0statistical software,independent samples t-test,one-way ANOVA,and correlation analysis on a sample of 516 university students.The study concluded that both parental care and encouragement factors were negatively associated with university students’ Internet addiction,i.e.the higher the degree of parental care for children,the lower the probability of children being addicted to the Internet.The parental control factor was positively correlated with university students’ Internet addiction,i.e.the more parents controlled their children,the higher the probability of their children being addicted to the Internet.At the same time,the specific manifestations and causes of the influence of poor family parenting style on university students’ Internet addiction were analysed.Finally,in view of the findings of the survey and research,taking family parenting as the entry point,the prevention and solutions to Internet addiction among college students are proposed at four levels: parents should actively learn about family parenting and create a harmonious family environment and atmosphere in order to prevent and solve Internet addiction among college students;college students should actively make use of the family environment,actively participate in and enrich family life,and Schools should build a healthy campus culture and join hands with families to create a line of defence against Internet addiction;the state should create a social climate that values family upbringing through policy implementation and network regulation.
