The period in junior secondary school is vitally important for students to develop the ability of reading and thinking,the skill and interest in popular science.Therefore,both teachers and students should pay more attention to the teaching of popular science.Most of teaching in popular science,however,fails to attract students to dedicate in popular science reading,which is not only influenced by the features of popular science,but closely related with teachers' cognitive and the strategies they adopt in class.From the perspective of pedagogy and educational psychology,this paper makes use of literature research,questionnaire,case study,as well as other research methods to study schema theory and the teaching in popular science in the course of Chinese in junior secondary school.Also,a strategy in reading schema application is proposed.Starting form the individual schemas of students,schema theory emphasizes the supplement of basic schemas,the activation of existing schemas,and the internal migration of new schemas.Supplementing and activating the schema is a process of activating students' interest in reading and learning popular science.Students and their interest will be activated.Schemas can be incorporated into new information smoothly,new schemas will be constructed,and then schema structures can be improved.In the study of popular science literature reading,the construction and improvement of knowledge schema,content schema,emotion schema and formal schema make it available for students to learn the knowledge contained in popular science literature.This paper takes the advantages of schema theory and the features of popular science texts,tries to explore the teaching of popular science literature in junior secondary school using schema theory and combine the two effectively to improve the status quo of teaching of popular science reading in junior secondary school.I hope this can provide some references for Chinese teachers to teach popular science reading in junior high school Chinese.The thesis is divided into six parts:The preface mainly summarizes research origin,the purpose and research focus,and the research approach of this paper,and finally sort out the research status.The first chapter introduce the relation of schema theory and popular science reading teaching,and makes a initial research on the relationship between schema theory and popular science and popular science reading teaching.Chapter Two,After investigating,further analyze the problems in the teaching of popular science reading in junior secondary school.At the same time,study the practicability of schema theory in the teaching of popular science reading in junior high school from three aspects: the characteristics of students,the theoretical basis and time experience of teachers,and the fit between schema theory and popular science reading teaching.The third chapter mainly researches the application strategies of schema theory in the teaching of popular science reading in the course of Chinese in junior secondary school.First of all,from the view of schema construction,this chapter discusses the construction of knowledge schema and program schema of teachers and students in the teaching of reading in popular science text and then put forward some corresponding suggestions.Second,go deep into the teaching of popular science reading in junior secondary school to explore the specific application strategies of schema theory,and raise a five-step way of "knowing","complementing","exciting","strong" and "moving" with students as the main body of teaching,guiding students to read and learn popular science texts more scientifically and efficiently in the process of schema construction.Chapter four,the two forms of teaching case analysis and teaching design,include three genres of popular science essays in junior secondary school Chinese textbooks:science essays,scientific biography,and science fiction.The effectiveness and operability of the use of schema strategies are explored.Chapter 5,based on the application of schema theory in the teaching of popular science text reading in junior secondary school,reflects on the problems easily existing in the teaching practice.For instance,This can easily cause the fossilization of the teaching mode;so that students have negative thinking set and other problems.In response to these problems,optimizing strategies are proposed from these aspects: "accumulation and innovation","reminders",and "use of fixed trends".
