The characteristic of mathematics determines that learning mathematics requires exercise training,and it is the exercises course that undertakes the task of problem-solving training.Mathematical exercises teaching is a key part of junior high school mathematics teaching.Efficient exercises teaching is an important guarantee for improving the effect of mathematics learning.Through exercises training,students can not only consolidate and deepen the knowledge they have learned,check for deficiencies,but also deepen their understanding of mathematics concepts,establish a knowledge framework,and master general methods of problem-solving.So the goal of cultivating students’ mathematical thinking,improving students’ problem-solving ability and mathematics core literacy can be achieved.Therefore,how to efficiently carry out mathematics study problem teaching and improve the classroom efficiency of exercises has become the focus of mathematics teaching.This study uses literature research methods,questionnaire survey methods,interview methods,and data statistics methods.The objects of the survey are 254 junior high school students in three grades of Shengcheng Middle School in Shouguang City and 190 first-line junior high school mathematics teachers in the city.Teachers are surveyed in four dimensions: teaching psychology,preparation for the exercises,teaching behaviors in the exercises,and the teaching evaluation of the exercises;students are analyzed from learning psychology of the exercises,learning behavior in the current exercises,the intervention from teachers in class and the learning gains.The survey results show that teachers and students are aware of the importance of math exercises courses.Before these courses,they will work hard on the selection and selection of exercises.In the exercises,they will focus on one problem with multiple solutions and variant training.After the exercises,students are able to reflect,and summarize.However,at present,there are still problems existing in the courses.For example,teachers pay less attention to the exercises than the new lectures,the teacher’s teaching method is relatively simple,the students are generally less enthusiastic and participated in the exercises courses,and the students’ learning methods are not good..In response to the results of the survey,based on the study of the relevant literature,the following suggestions for improvement are put forward: 1.Pay attention to the selection of exercises and carefully prepare the lessons.2.Improve teaching methods and stimulate students’ interest.3.Teach the problem-solving methods and highlight the key points of teaching.4.Focus on model construction and establish a knowledge system.5.Pay attention to information technology to assist mathematics teaching.
