In recent years,under the efforts of policy makers,scholars,enterprises and other parties,the number and proportion of female CEOs have been greatly improved,arousing widespread concern among scholars and thus becoming a hot topic.So,this paper addresses the question:“Why do companies choose female CEOs?” and studies the relationship between CEO's gender and the selection of corporate innovation behaviors.Based on the above considerations,this paper selects and uses the data of World Bank's China Enterprise Survey 2012 and Chinese General Social Survey 2012(CGSS 2012).On the one hand,this paper analyses the relationship between enterprise scenario and CEO's gender.On the other hand,this paper studies the relationship between CEO's gender and the selection of corporate innovation behaviors,as well as the regulating effect of gender culture on the relationship between them.It was discovered in the studies that(1)the micro,meso and macro scenarios in which an enterprise is involved may affect the CEO's gender.Meanwhile,the gender culture in macro-scenario plays a positively moderating role over the market environment in the meso-scenario;(2)if compared with male CEOs,female CEOs have significantly promoted both incremental innovation behaviors and radical innovation behaviors;gender culture has positively regulated the relationship between CEO's gender and corporate incremental innovation behaviors,yet the regulating effect of gender culture on the relationship between CEO's gender and corporate radical innovation behaviors is not significant.This article provides a micro,meso,and macro integration framework,provides a "sketch portrait" for companies that choose female general managers,provides evidence for viewing and understanding female general managers,and provides evidence for China's implementation of policies to support female employees.Finally,this paper puts forward policy suggestions...
