Extracurricular reading,an essential part of extra reading teaching in senior high,does make a difference for senior high school students.Improvement in this part can help students' develop their Chinese abilities in reading,writing and expressing themselves.With the recent revolution in Chinese Curricular Criterion and the occurrence of Learning Task Groups,the Teaching Method of Reading and Analyzing a Whole Book has been applied to Chinese teaching by more teachers.Specifically speaking,this paper talks about how to put the Teaching Method of Reading and Analyzing a Whole Book into the teaching and learning of Collection of Haizi's Poems.Literature Analysis and Comparative Approach are combined with the present situation of Chinese teaching in Xinjiang to come up with some reflectional advice in further Chinese teaching.There are three parts in this paper: the teaching design of the Teaching Method of Reading and Analyzing a Whole Book used in Collection of Haizi's Poems,which involves the intention,objectives and plan of teaching this collection;the employment of the teaching design,in which three periodical tasks are involved;the reflectional advice concluded from the employment,including the presence of the teaching results and the suggestions in further practice of the Teaching Method of Reading and Analyzing a Whole Book.Four conclusions are attainted in this paper.First,teachers should plan carefully in advance to show students scientific reading methods and spur their reading interest.Second,students' reading interest,the characteristics of the reading material,students' absorption level and the reading effect should be considered twice before the teaching procedure is carried out.Third,students are supposed to be the main part during the learning process while teachers are only there to guide them,which means students' initiative needs inspiring.Fourth,when dealing with the selection of the extracurricular reading material,teachers and educators should pay more attention to the material's effect on students in a long run.
