Mathematics understanding is the key to study mathematics knowledge,factorization understanding is one of the important contents of mathematics understanding,and factorization is of great significance to subsequent learning.At present,the status quo of students’ understanding of factorization is not clear,so it is particularly important to explore the level of students’ understanding of factorization.Studying the level of students’ understanding of factorization is a feedback to teaching and lays a foundation for subsequent learning.Therefore,the study of junior high school students’ level of understanding of factorization and its influencing factors,in order to achieve better teaching effects,and provide references for teachers’ teaching.This study uses the SOLO classification and evaluation theory to divide factorization into three dimensions: concept,method,and application.Based on these three dimensions,a test paper(with a reliability of 0.741)is prepared,combined with a related questionnaire(with a reliability of 0.787)220 students were tested and interviewed in order to understand the level of junior high school students’ understanding of factorization and what are the factors that affect the level of junior high school students’ understanding of factorization.This research starts from the question,combines the test paper and the questionnaire results,through a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods,and draws the following conclusions:(1)Junior high school students have an intermediate level of understanding of factorization concepts,and a low level of understanding of factorization methods and application of factorization.(2)Learning emotions and learning attitudes have a greater impact on the level of factorization understanding.Finally,based on the research results,relevant suggestions are made to front-line teachers for factorization teaching:(1)Strengthen the teaching of the concept and application of factorization;(2)Combine multi-version textbooks to make reasonable teaching.In this study,there are problems such as less sampling and one-sided consideration of influencing factors.In the follow-up research,further consideration and improvement are needed to improve the factorization understandingc level ctest tool and play a role for middle school education.
