The teaching of ancient poetry reading is an important part of Chinese teaching,and it is a basic way for students to understand and explore the world.At present,there are some phenomena in the reading teaching of ancient poetry in senior high school,such as lack of text analysis ability of some teachers,lack of relevance teaching cognition,poor text appreciation ability of students,low reading interest and so on.Relevance theory provides a new research direction and angle for ancient poetry reading teaching,and brings concrete and theoretical guidance for front-line teachers.This study is based on the concentrated interpretation of the basic concepts of relevance and its related theoretical principles,such as cognitive context,explicit reasoning and relevance principles,combined with the current situation and causes of ancient poetry reading teaching in senior high school.from the perspective of curriculum standards,pragmatic competence,cognitive level and emotional experience,this paper explores the agreement between relevance theory and ancient poetry reading teaching in senior high school,and demonstrates the application basis of relevance theory.It not only meets the requirements of the goal of the new curriculum standard in senior high school and the cognitive level of students,meets the requirements of the cultivation of students’ pragmatic competence and the emotional interaction between students and the text,but also plays a positive role in cultivating the sense of relevance between teachers and students and realizing multiple interpretation of the text.it plays a positive role in changing teachers’ teaching concepts,promoting relevance teaching,changing students’ learning styles and improving students’ information processing ability.Therefore,this paper puts forward the strategies and requirements of the teaching of ancient poetry text reading in senior high school from the perspective of relevance theory,in order to promote the continuous improvement of the teaching effect of ancient poetry reading.
